Description
The “Koran Reader” is mentioned in the same review as “Broadway Milkmaid” and
“Bashi Bazouk” and is described…”which, in spite of its brilliancy of color – red and yellow, – is far from satisfactory and makes one long for the Bashi-Bazouk of several years ago.” Bashi was painted in 1878, and with the mention in this scrapbook clipping along with Milkmaid would place “Koran Reader” about 1881.
